The Northern Women’s Art Collective is a group of 20 female artists which was founded in October 2014 as a means for supporting and encouraging each other’s creative talents, and as a forum to showcase their work.

The women are all based in the north of England and draw their inspiration from their varying identities and environments. Whilst most are based in Greater Manchester, some are from as far afield as Cumbria and Cheshire.
The exhibition is the collective’s first show and features a diverse collection of work in a variety of mediums including ceramics, painting, drawing and photography.

New Exhibition: Jade Hanley My Life in 3”by 5”

Since January 1st 2012 Jade Hanley has drawn a postcard everyday of the year.

The rules are simple and are as follows as told by the artist:

  • It must be on a 3” by 5” postcard
  • It must accurately describe some aspect of the day (preferably a funny or interesting one)
  • It must be drawn on the day, by hand
  • A day is the hours from when I wake up to when I go to sleep, rather than traditional, boring ‘days’
  • Sometimes a day is the day after because gin and drawing don’t mix
  • Spelling mistakes are tolerated because it’s creative, and I can’t spell
